Man oh man! Today we started our Spring bible study where we are going to be going over the Gospel of Luke. We started out be describing what college is like for us. For me, college was a great time of learning. I learn how much there is to know and how little of it I know. I learned how to apply what I was taught. I learned how to teach it to others too. I learned how to communicate better find out answers to questions that I have. In all of this learning, I also learned a lot of stuff in my major and I graduated with a degree in Atmospheric Science. Outside of that I learned so much about God and who I was created to be.
We then moved on to how do you describe Jesus? We all took turns talking about Jesus and different qualities and ways to speak of him. We then went on read Luke 1:
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught. (Luke 1:1-4)
Luke here is saying that what he is doing is writing down an accurate account of Jesus so that Theophilus will can know that what he has been taught is true. Luke is simply describing Jesus to Theophilus.
At the end of our bible study Dexter, a graduating senior, told us he had a hard time describing Jesus because of this video he saw. We then punched it into a smart phone and watched the 3 minute video. It was amazing! I present it to you now!
Something that can be describe like that is truly indescribable!

Dresser

A number of years ago I was looking to buy a good size wooden cross, maybe a foot tall or so, to have around the house. I wanted it to be something that would sit on my dresser or some other table around the house. I wanted it to be visible and ‘in the way’ so it wouldn’t just become a part of the wall but something that I saw often. I went to many places looking for one including multiple Christian stores and …Read More
The Semester in Review

The fall semester is coming to a close soon and it has been a good semester! We wanted to focus on personal growth this semester. We felt kind of like Paul in Romans 10:14-15 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are …Read More

Grace and peace, today we are going over Romans 4. Here is a link to it on biblegateway.com “Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation.“ Paul gives such a great contrast here in v4. When we work, we are normally working because we expect to get some benefit from what we are doing. At the end of a work week, an employer doesn’t expect to be thanked when they pay the …Read More

Grace and Peace, today we are going over Romans 3. Here is a link to it on bibleagateway.com Over the past year or so, I have gotten in to reading much more. Getting rid of our cable last September has helped and also reading about things I am interested makes a difference. In the past, I’d read things because people would tell me it was good and that I should read it, but that topic interested them, not me. Of course …Read More
