Questions with Answers
Starting on June 1st 2011, Impact started a bible study for the summer session. The intention of the bible study was to make ourselves available to people who might have questions about Christianity and it's beliefs. Out of this, the Q&A Bible Study started. We hung up some signs around the campus advertising the bible study and a few of the signs were defaced.
(TLDR means Too Long Didn't Read)
In a world were everyone likes to add a comment, we decided to rework the sign to add a comment/question area. This sign, as seen above, is still posted and next to it is the new sign. The new sign has had some people writing on it and those questions will be posted here along with answers that we responded with. If you feel our answer could be improved, please fill out the provided form and we will add your answer to the question.
Question #1: If you go to heaven when you die, what is the point of a resurrection?
That is a good question!
If we are already in heaven, why would you want to leave?
Well Revelation 20 talks about the return of Christ and His 1,000 year reign on earth. It says that those who belong to Christ will be resurrected and reign with Him (others who do not belong, will be resurrected after the 1,000 year reign and later all will be judged according to their actions). For a follower of Christ, it would be a great joy to be able to work with Jesus in reaching the people of the planet. This might help you look at it in a different way.
Have you ever been to a live concert by a band you really like? Hearing the band live and the energy they bring to the stage, makes me like them even more. I’ve been to see U2, Sanctus Real, Mikes Chair, Ozzy, Pearl Jam, Eric Clapton and many others and seeing them live has greatly affected how much I like them. Imagine how much this will ring true for being with Jesus! People who follow Him now will have the opportunity to see Him and be with Him and then come back and get to talk with people about it! That seems pretty awesome to me!
